Eine aktuelle Studie<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a> aus den USA belegt, dass die regelm\u00e4\u00dfige Aufnahme von Omega-3-Fetts\u00e4uren bei einer Dosierung von \u00fcber 1 Gramm pro Tag das Risiko f\u00fcr Alzheimer um 65 Prozent reduziert. Prof. Dr. Kurt Widhalm, Pr\u00e4sident des \u00d6AIE. \u201eDurch die vorliegenden Studien ist nun zudem belegt, dass Omega-3-Fetts\u00e4uren auch pr\u00e4ventiv der Abnahme kognitiver F\u00e4higkeiten sowie dem Auftreten von Demenz und Alzheimer entgegenwirken.\u201c<br \/>\nF\u00fcr den menschlichen K\u00f6rper dienen v.a. Fische und Waln\u00fcsse als Hauptaufnahmequellen f\u00fcr Omega-3-Fetts\u00e4uren. Um auf die zur Pr\u00e4vention notwendige Menge von t\u00e4glich \u00fcber 1 Gramm zu kommen, empfiehlt das \u00d6AIE die Langzeitaufnahme von Omega-3-Nahrungserg\u00e4nzungsmitteln, die aus Fisch\u00f6l wie auch aus pflanzlichen \u00d6len hergestellt angeboten werden.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<\/p>\n<p>Das <strong>\u00d6sterreichische Akademische Institut f\u00fcr Ern\u00e4hrungsmedizin (\u00d6AIE)<\/strong> wurde 1996 auf Initiative des damaligen Pr\u00e4sidenten der \u00c4rztekammer, Prim. Dr. Michael Neumann, mit dem Ziel gegr\u00fcndet, \u00c4rztinnen und \u00c4rzte im Fach der Ern\u00e4hrungsmedizin fortzubilden. Das \u00d6AIE ist interdisziplin\u00e4r ausgerichtet und vereint unter der Leitung von Univ.-Prof. Dr. Kurt Widhalm Expertinnen und Experten aus den Bereichen der Medizin, Psychologie, Ern\u00e4hrungswissenschaften, Di\u00e4tologie, Sportwissenschaften und Nahrungsmittelproduktion. Als f\u00fchrende Fortbildungs- und Forschungs-Institution f\u00fcr Ern\u00e4hrungsmedizin in \u00d6sterreich richtet es regelm\u00e4\u00dfig wissenschaftliche Veranstaltung aus und publiziert viertelj\u00e4hrlich das &#8220;Journal f\u00fcr Ern\u00e4hrungsmedizin&#8221;.
